Savilonis, Sherry, age 58, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2012, from Leukemia. Sherry, a long time resident of Medfield, is survived by her husband, Joseph P. Savilonis of Medfield and her Daughter, Melissa A. Savilonis, LP.D (c), also of Medfield.

To say that she lost her battle to leukemia would be a fallacy because she fought incredibly hard and when she learned her illness was not curable, she handled it with such courage and grace, and in such a dignified way. The world may have lost one incredible woman, but she touched many hearts and lives. Sherry was known for always putting herself second to others, and always did so with a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her two cats, as well as going to the beach, researching genealogy, baking, and crafting. Sherry worked in technology for the Wellesley Public School System, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She would often joke that she couldn’t believe she got paid to do something she loved so much. One of her favorite quotes was from John Lennon; “life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans”.

Visiting hours will be held at the Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14 from 2-5 PM, with an open house at Melissa’s residence immediately following, at 1 Bartlett Ave Medfield, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made in Sherry’s memory to a fundraiser Melissa is doing for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, at http://pages.teamintraining.org/vtnt/dipihalf12/msavilonis.If you would like to donate by check, please mail them to: Melissa Savilonis, 1 Bartlett Ave., Medfield, MA 02052.
