Corrigan, Thelma Doris (Hinz)
, age 96, a longtime Medfield resident, died on Monday morning, August 24, 2009, at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 26, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Sadie Ellen (Kelly) Hinz. Thelma was a 1930 graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore and had been employed as a secretary. In the course of her career she had worked with Hauss Taylor & Company, Credit Adjustment Corp., and the A.H. Bull Steamship Company.
Thelma settled in Medfield in 1980 and became a member of the Medfield Senior Citizens. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and most loved spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her husband James J. Corrigan and daughters Nancy and Mary Corrigan, she is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Mrs. Albert) Kern of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Rachel (Mrs. Jeffrey) Donoian of Southlake, TX; a grandson, Justin Kern of Henderson, NV; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Isabella, and Francesca Donoian of Southlake, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Hinz.
Her funeral will be held at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham, on Saturday, Aug. 29th at 2:00p.m. Burial will be at New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
Visiting hours will be at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, Friday 4 – 8p.m.
If desired, donations may be made in Thelma’s memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143.
